I took a break from my backpack-hiking trip in Europe for a few weeks to be back home with my mom and family during her final illness—Mom passed on May 22 after a very full 91 years.
Mom liked ducks. I’d like to think she would identify with this one I saw in Cumbria, floating peacefully ahead to another shore.
